COOLPIX P1000

Just purchased and tried P1000 for the first time. It's my new treasured possession. It's an amazing piece of technology! The best of both worlds- point and shoot, yet also able to customize manually. My main reason for purchasing was as a birder. Needed ability to zoom from a distance. Blown away! Amazing images from the first. Very pleased!This is only my first day using. My observations are: It's fabulous, but a couple of buts: The unit is heavy and hard to hold still to frame shots. Going to need a tripod. Would like to see more detailed instructions in manuals (quick start guide and snapbridge) instead of having to look online. Perhaps quick videos of how to information for all the functions. Second observation is that response was slow shooting single images. I'd click and have to wait several seconds before shooting another. Overall, absolutely thrilled! My favorite new thing! Love it! Would recommend to birders and novice photographers. Great learning curve. Camera will teach you the way.Have yet to try all the features. Will post again as I do.

Camera is as good or better than a telescope. truly amazing by itself and even more when pics are improved with NX studio.But for astronomical photography the monitor shuts down when the camera is pointed to the zenith. You have to use the viewfinder and then you lose the enormous benefit of a tripod, and having the best frame of any stellar object.

This camera has literally changed my life. I am selling all my DSLR cameras. I’ve captured so many incredible pictures from my back porch!

I love this camera. It takes amazing pictures. I have tested the camera taking pictures of the moon and doing macro and short movies. I have no complaints. The resolution is great.I am extremely happy with this camera.

Of course there's a learning curve. This is all new to me and so much fun already! I can't wait to practice macro photography with this beauty as well. Definitely recommend!

For five cent short of one grand, what's in the box? What accessories are included? Like that Dot thing. Zoom audio catcher. Thanks

Amazing camera to use and take telephotos with an astonishing zoom lens , love how I can take shots of the moon and very far object with crystal clear image quality.Although its sensor is quite small compare to other DSLR cameras with the same size . I keep it for my morning outdoor shooting.I just have one concern , I bought that camera from China during a visit Latley .The menu language is only Chinese and couldn't find English language to set up.Will I be able to change the language from Chinese to English if possible ??

For the most parts I love my camera. I takes amazing photos of the Moon. Its super easy to use. I am having trouble taking photos of Jupiter and the Moons. I can see when I zoom in but when I click the button to take a photo it trys to correct what I am taking a photo of and I end up with either just a black screen or an completely out of focus photo. I have played with the settings and nothing seems to help.

where can i check the year of assembly of my camera(p1000) with the serial number??
