Lu is a visionary with a career that has spanned over 20 years as a pioneering photographer, filmmaker, director, mentor and Nikon Ambassador. Throughout his path, Lu has continuously set new standards in the realms of event and commercial photography. His innovative approach, combined with a keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling, has earned him a well-deserved reputation as a trailblazer in the industry.

As a Vietnamese-Chinese immigrant, Lu discovered his artistic calling at an early age. He embarked on his photography journey during grade school, starting with an award-winning pinhole camera project in science class, and later pioneering an innovative digital yearbook for his classmates. From there, his passion for art and technology only grew stronger, as he joined his high school's audio-video club and yearbook club, pushing the boundaries of creativity. His natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge took him to college, where he delved into the world of filmmaking and photography, honing his craft, and blending his artistry with cutting-edge technology to capture moments that are nothing short of breathtaking.

As the founder of Photagonist.ca, a visual media agency, Lu has worked with and produced content for renowned companies, personalities, brands, and festivals. His impressive client list boasts global giants like L'Oréal, Kraft Heinz Foods Co, Twitter, and Google, as well as esteemed personalities including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, astronaut Chris Hadfield, lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart, iconic actors Jim Carrey, Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley, and supermodel Cara Delevingne. Lu's artistic prowess has also been showcased at prestigious festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, South by Southwest, and Tribeca Film Festival. His captivating images and videos have been featured in prominent publications and online media outlets such as Collider, Deadline Hollywood, People Magazine, TheWrap, and Us Weekly, solidifying his position as a leading figure in the world of visual arts.

I see stills and motion as a delicate balance of trust-building and risk-taking. It's about forging connections, being creative, exploring new perspectives, and capturing moments.
