HB-45 Lens Hood

Just bought the Nikon HB-45 online because no camera store on Maui had one. When I got it out of the box, it didn´t fit my Nikon DX AF-S 18-55 kit lens. Nikon recommends this hood for this lens. It´s a waste of money, including shipping cost.

I recently purchased this lens hood for my D3200 with the AF-S Nikkor 18-55 mm 3.5-5.6GII lens. I can´t get it to stay on the lens. It doesn´t snap on, there doesn´t seem to be a way to mount it. What am I missing?

Bought this hood after 9 months and realized what I was missing, its incredible how you can experience better light/distance sensitiveness. Must have, recommended.

If you do not have this on your lens, stop what you are doing and go get one. Your wonderful ´´kit´´ lens needs this little added protection as well as the preventative against lens flare, period. The lens may be inexpensive but it´s one of the best lenses Nikon produces. Do you have your´s yet?
